Independent lift advice and lift management

As an independent lift consultant I help property owners, managers and operators get a grip on the technical condition, the maintenance and the running costs of their lift installations.

  • Over 26 years of practical experience
  • Condition surveys to NEN 2767
  • Working across the Netherlands and Belgium

The challenge

It takes a breakdown before we notice how critical vertical mobility really is.

We rarely give it a thought, yet we expect lifts to run safely, comfortably and without incident at all times. For property owners, managers and operators, a single lift failure can mean unhappy users, operational disruption and unexpected cost.

Method

The technical condition recorded objectively

A sound maintenance strategy starts with insight. Using the NEN 2767 method I record the condition of your lift installation objectively and unambiguously. Every defect found is assessed on three characteristics.

ConditionIncreasing severity of defects
  1. 01Excellent
  2. 02Good
  3. 03Fair
  4. 04Moderate
  5. 05Poor
  6. 06Very poor

Scale 1, excellent, to 6, very poor

Assessed on three characteristics

01Severity
The extent to which the defect affects how the installation performs.
02Extent
How widely the defect occurs across the installation.
03Intensity
The stage the defect has reached.

I determine a condition score for each building or installation component. The survey data goes into the Prognotice software, which produces a transparent and traceable overview.

About HERMAT

Independent, and staying that way

From 1 October 1999 until early 2026 I worked as a senior consultant and lift adviser at Bureau Veritas Solutions. Over more than 26 years I built up deep knowledge and broad practical experience in lift management and lift administration.

I now carry that expertise forward as an independent consultant under HERMAT Lift Consultancy. I do not sell lift installations, parts or maintenance contracts. That is what allows me to represent your interests with no commercial stake in the outcome.
